One very tired Mamma and Bubby

Duke sleeps so much...I just wana play and cuddle with him! but i resist and just watch him sleep like an obsessed mother...lol cause i can! He is just adorable...I call him my lil'Piglet cause he eats like its his first meal everytime! and he grunts in his sleep! just too damn cute! Im loving motherhood!

Finding it hard to get energy levels back at this stage, like Andrea quoted "One day at a time" so true. Its the split sleeps that are making me so tired at the moment. I have little snacks like mueseli bars and pears next to my bed for during the night feeds cause I wake starving! My belly has gone down dramatically...all I have is a pot belly at the moment considering how big I was in the end. Hubby goes back to work on Wednesday then it will be me and the Duke : ) this is when Il start routining myself and experimenting the best times of the day to walk/eat/clean...and just take on my new position "stay at home mum" eventuating back in the gym.

We have a Baby!

Hello all! I'd like to introduce you to a new man in my life Duke Rositano Born at 3.48pm Via C Section on th 10th Feb 2009 weighing 8.1pd and at 52cm Im in love : )

He has the biggest green eyes, chubbiest cheeks, kissable lips, squeshy squashy nose and the cutest little dimple on his chin.... I cant believe he's mine!

But how he entered this world was not the most joyful moment....he scared his Mummy, Daddy and Dr Svigos! It was Tuesday morning and I had booked in to be induced....I wasn't coping in Adelaide's hotest and longest heat wave in history. I had high blood pressure from the heat and ankles as big as watermelons! Heart burn that would never go away and I couldnt drink enough water....enough was ENOUGH!
So we arrived at the hospital at 8am and the midwife had placed the gels in to soften my cervix. I was already 1cm dialated. By 12pm and a morning of watching the bush fire devastation from the hospital bed, still nothing. As I lay hooked to monitors to monitor Duke's heart rate my Doc comes at 3pm to break my waters....geez was that a tital wave! and not a nice feeling at all!

My Doc, hubby and I discuss the next process, and that going by a centimetre dialation per hour I would not have him till 10pm that night. In the midst of this conversation and minutes after he has broken my water the Doc becomes increasingly concerned at Duke's falling heart rate..... My blood pressure drops and I get sick and Dukes heart rate is down to 60 beats/minute (should be between 140-160 beats/min) Caios and PANIC begins! I have consent forms placed in my face to sign for emergency Ceaser@! He calls for other nurses and midwifes in the room, Aneathesis comes in 2 short minutes, Im numbed from the breast down and rushed into theatre...Dukes in major distress. Poor hubby's running behind trying to place on his threatre clothes and I dont know what the hell is happening!.....its all a big blur and very very scary. Duke's born within 20min.

After my water had been broken, my uterus compressed and the cord was around his neck twice blocking his airway and sending him into distress and lowering my blood pressure dramatically. Adam, my hubby watched him being ripped from me and Doc unravelling the cord from around his neck. Duke was then checked and cleaned before he was handed to me with a tick of health ...in the nick of time. Much appreciation was awarded to Dr Svigos and his team for such a rapid decision to have me in theatre and saving Duke all within 20min! Monitoring and steadying his heart rate in that time. So much for having him at 10pm that night!

I then spent 2hrs in recovery and a good nights sleep, the midwives took Duke into the Nursery for the 1st night and brought him to me only to feed, I was in great pain and much Pethadine. Fortunely Duke is a great feeder and latched on straight away, no problems there! and just a beautiful gorgeous little boy that I Thank God for every day. I love love love being a Mum and I treasure every moment with him!

OK OK Im sorry Ive ignored you blogger , I found a new love....he's just as fun as you, his name is Face book... Im sure its only temporary but I have been enjoying our time together....What can I say? Il try not to ignor you again ; )

Katie came over last weekend and we ABSOLUTLEY loved having her here! we had so much fun just relaxing, kicking back and enjoying the sunshine, good food and good company! it was'nt enuf time...What a beautiful beautiful girl she is. My husband made her into his surrogant wife! he loves the attention the big tart! On Sunday we caught up with Cheryl, Magda, Kerry, Kate and Vivienne for brekkie which was nice and the rest of the day we hang out down at Glenelg and went on the new Ferris wheel which went extremely slowww...oh well you could see all of Adelaide from the top. AND a big THANKyou Katie for my bootiful little 'Bebe' size 0000 jumpsuits....there so small and cute!

Ive had a growth spurt....I can feel elbows and shoulders rolling against my tummy....weird but delightful feeling. With this my bellybutton is offically an outty! LOL and I seriously need to consider taking my belly ring out cause its irritating on my clothes.

Im officailly on maternity leave....OMG I'd never thought of ever writing that BUT I AM! and I love it! its the first time I've been off work for so long and havent felt guilty! were on the one wage now, but we seem to be doing fine so far. Its seriously just spending patterns that makes the difference, spend less have more...simple....I never thought we would be able to do the one wage but we are.

WOOP WOOP!! WOOP WOOP! From the lovely Cheryl's blog...... How exciting is this! Glenelg is the most beautiful place in Adelaide! What a way to get me pumped and motivated 1 month after giving birth! (Im due Mid Feb) And the girl on the pick is the winner of my division when I competed at the Wagga Comps 2006, Deanna Murphy.......NOW IM PUMPED! This is my town lady, I should be on that poster!! GET OUTA TOWN!

LOL....thats todays outburst.

I was looking for a picture to explain how I feel at the moment and I came across this one....oooo HOW CUTE! but HOW I feel is the mother Hippo behind!! I feel HUGE! Ive got celulite in my arms...yes Im retaining alot of fluid.....and cant wait to get moving again. All exercise has ceased because Ive got a lot of pressure in my pelvic area, this jellybean is now a watermelon!...... I have been doing my pelvic floor muscles.... but even thats exhausting.

Yes ladies and gents im coming to the end of this journey AND WANT THIS BUBBA OUT OF ME!!!!

Todays been inspiring, well Ive been sitting at this Temp job (reception at Defence SA) watching YOU TUBE's of Monica Brant in the gym and Jennifer Hendershot at PHAT camp GEEZ These girls ROCK! They make ME pumped everytime!

....and Ive been mind surfing what il do 6wks after baby.....the plan is simple.... the goal is small ....we shall start with core exercise, stretching and keeping up the pelvic floor. They say apparently "9 months to carry and 9 months to lose" so thats what il give myself. I wont be no 'Nicole Richie or Posh spice' after this journey, no no no... there will be no 6weeks to skinnyville....not that they even have nice bodies anyway! not anything to desire in my eyes.

This week I finished my last Cert 4 exam! woooohoooo what an achievement that has been! Ive got 2 more assignments and thats it FULLY QUALIFIED PT! Spartze over next weekend YEHHHH!! and we'll be chilling and catching up...... get some relaxtion into this girl! get her a tan and some nice SA Wine into her! Shes not going to wana go back to Melbourne ; ) heheheh thats the plan ; )

So il come back with some gossip from how our weekend went very soon!

Lifes good! Belly's bigger and study is nearly over, Xmas is 5weeks away, baby's 12weeks away.... Im in a good place right now. Update soon.

Ive been shopping on ebay! and have had lots of fun! and then hubby took the credit card away from me ; ( so no more shopping for JL ; (

I love this! only pay $25 I also purchased a little pair of Nike shots......just like mine....sooo cute!

Hubby and I are off to Mt Compass Country Cabins on Sunday. A quick little romanitic getaway before bubs comes along and for my birthday on Tuesday Nov 11th AND on my actual birthday we are off to Monarto Zoo for the day to go behind the scenes and feed the lions! IM SOO EXCITED! hopefully theres cubs there. Hubby keeps shit stirring me saying they'll eat me cause theres more of me to eat!

And got some great news the other day my beautiful friend Katie is coming for a visit to Adelaide in December!

Hubby's been working so hard. He's trying to finish his folks tiling before they come back from Europe next weekend, but been doing it after work hours. He's tiling their huge family room, this means straight after work till about 11pm every night for the last 2wks. Its a suprise for when they return home cause its been un-tiled for 15years! so this holiday will be well deserved! Ive organised a special little treat for him Monday morning....a massuese will come to the cabins and he'll enjoy a 1 hour massage out by the river! bless him!

Got a Movement Analysis exam tonight YUK! and then Nutrition lecture till 9pm, tomorrow 9am-5pm and then HOME FREE....were OUTTA HERE!
